Dr. Alex Ott

Dr. Alex Ott is a biochemist, author, molecular biologist, flavor scientist, and healer. He has traveled the world, exploring rainforests and collaborating with indigenous tribes.  His expertise extends to consulting and inventing for health science and biotech companies, particularly in the fields of phytology, biochemistry, and olfactory neuroscience, focusing on plant-based supplements as well as food and beverage projects. His work has revolutionized plant science-based product development. 

After surviving a harrowing plane crash that claimed 101 lives, Alex gained a renewed perspective on life, leading him to dedicate himself to multiple professions. Notably, he launched revolutionary and functional beverage menus, including one for the renowned  Buddha Bar + Hotel in Paris, along with 300 additional elixir programs globally. His unique sensorial immersion and storytelling hour, known as The Alex Ott Experience,  became a highly sought-after occasion.

Dr. Ott’s contributions to the field have garnered major profiles in over 100 global publications, including The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. He was featured in presentations like ‘Evolution of Drink’ by The Royal Institution in London, acknowledging his pioneering contributions to medicinal plant chemistry and neurobiology for nutritional approaches in scent and flavor applications, particularly in mental health and mood stimulation.

Driven by a profound passion for helping others and improving global health, Dr. Ott has been instrumental in innovative global product developments. This includes work for  NASA/JPL’s Space Food Systems Laboratory, gut biome spider-webbing, sensorial nutrition for the ISS, PTSD solutions for the Army, and the creation of fine neuro fragrances for major flavor houses such as Givaudan, IFF, and Firmenich. He collaborated on perfume formulations for brands like Kiehl’s & Tom Ford. Additionally,  Dr. Ott specialized in organic beverage formulations for PepsiCo, SVEDKA, Gallo  Wines, and LVMH. He formulated disease-preventative nutrient sachets for FRS  (Merck), developed pioneering supplements for cancer prevention, and oxygenating snacks for high-altitude climbers. Notably, he invented the world’s first hangover prevention supplement, winning the ‘Beverage Innovation Of The Year’ Award.
